On New Years Eve it is a lot of fun to ring in the new year by counting down from 10 to 0. Here is a story to help preschoolers learn the numbers 0-10 and to practice counting numbers both forwards and backwards.

In this story a little girl is sitting by an empty swimming pool (the number 0) when she sees a bird (the number 3) take a stick (the number 1) and fly into a forest (the number 4) by her grandma’s house. She follows the bird to see if it is using the stick to build a nest.
